Hometech win Best Sales and Marketing!

Hometech was awarded the Best Marketing and Sales at the recent Forth Valley Business Awards, fighting off stiff competition from The Falkirk Wheel and Aurora Hotels.

This comes hot on the heels of the Stirling-based company's recent European award win at the prestigious CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) Awards.

Established in 2002 and now with almost 30 employees based in Stirling and West Sussex, Hometech provide integrated home technology solutions to residential developers, their homebuyers and individual private clients throughout the UK.

This involves installing a hidden network of structured cabling behind the walls of each property, which forms the electronic backbone of the home, connecting up telephones, computers, television, home cinema, multi room audio, lighting, heating and blind control.

Hometech have now cabled almost 3000 sites, from Southampton to Inverness, with over 40 residential developers.

The awards, organised by The Falkirk Herald and supported by RBS and Scottish Enterprise, aim to offer a platform to local businesses who deserve to be rewarded for all their achievements in their local community and beyond.  The judging panel were clearly impressed by Hometech' sales and marketing strategy  which showed an impressive 110% increase in sales turnover since last year and two record breaking sales months in August and September amounting to over £1 million in sales.

Sales and marketing activity has included; 1) the UK wide ‘SOLD' campaign highlighting that properties sell faster with built-in home technology options; 2) the creation of an award winning podcast enabling homebuyers to access instructions via their new iPod, reducing Hometech's customer care issues, and 3) roadshows using Hometech's technology partner Siemens demo truck, which transforms into a Showhome, and 4) One of the most successful initiatives has been to provide RIBA approved training to over 250 architects contributing to their CPD (Continued Personal Development).

The company was founded by directors Chris Stewart and Douglas Mackenzie. Commenting on the win, Douglas Mackenzie, Sales Director said:

"We're delighted to have won this award and with a 110% increase in sales turnover the results really do speak for themselves. We've worked hard to rollout a creative sales and marketing strategy to grow the business with both existing and new clients. Repeat business is at 90% which shows it's not just our sales and marketing which is working but our customer care as well."
